The ASEM-DUO allows flexibility by having individual donor partners to introduce specific criteria to reflect their individual needs. On top of Core Principles that govern the ASEM-DUO, individual donor partners may add their own criteria. Core principles are based on a simple concept : • Pair of exchanges - a two-way exchange of people between two educational institutions, one from Europe and the other from Asia ; • Standardized stay duration in “unit” - for students, 1 unit is one semester (4-6 months) - for professors/teachers, 1 unit is (1) month • Fellowship amount - for students, €8,000 to €12,000 is supported per pair for 1 unit (4-6 months) - for professors/teachers, €6,000 is supported per pair for 1 unit (one month)
